Rates of Reaction

This website will help you understand the collision theory and the rates of reaction. It will teach you how the concentration, the surface area, the temperature and adding a catalyst can affect a reaction. It will also explain how to measure and work out rates of reaction from a graph.

Definition: How fast or slow a reaction takes place
A Slow Reaction would be something rusting like a bike as it takes a long time.
A Fast Reaction would be something burning like a match as it doesn't take very long to react.

Explosions are very fast reactions which produce alot of gas product very quickly. Therefore they have a fast rate of reaction. Burning hydrogen would be an example of an explosion. However they can be very dangerous.
